Shootproof Email Automations are my jam! I have a whole email funnel system for my wedding clients that starts the moment they book and goes through their wedding date and beyond to a year after their wedding photo gallery is delivered. The emails are full of tips, tools, and resources for clients. The goal is to have them upsell more service time, products, etc. Those have been a great way for me to continue to make money even while weddings are postponed and they provide a level of customer service my clients have come to expect.

I’m still posting on Instagram, though not as often. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m also struggling with blogging right now, which has been one of the main ways I build SEO and get bookings. It’s hard to blog clients and weddings as though nothing strange is happening in the world. I’m trying to rethink how I can focus and still blog right now without making it seem like I am unaware of everyone’s circumstances.

@CarrieSwails - I’ve just recently started filling out my contacts so I can take advantage of the email campaigns. I’ve used the email automations for general 1on1 info, but I want to take full advantage of it and hope to generate more sales.

As far as blogging, you would think with the extra amount of time I’ve had at home, I would be blogging a lot more, but I too have been struggling with wanting to blog. I guess this is a good reminder to do it. :)

@CarrieSwails  That’s interesting to read and thanks for sharing.  Do you have a separate email list/newsletter or you just communicate to booked clients via email?  I’ve been toying with email marketing but trying to find the right platform.  I do like the idea of using Shootproof for client communication especially so they get used to the interface before they get their gallery.  Also nice not to have another service to sign up for!

I use Constant Contact, and have just recently learned that I can “pre-sale” pictures for an upcoming event using ShootProof. I cover endurance sports and after getting hired by the organizer, I sell photos to the participants, so I know exactly when the gallery will be up after the event. I use Constant Contact to send out an email to my list once a month, and usually make a sale or three and/or pick up a new client  - an event organizer or race director.

Anyway, that’s what I was doing until all of these events were cancelled or postponed. Because my sales depend on the events actually taking place, I don’t have much to sell right now - but that doesn’t mean that I can’t stay top of mind with my current list. So I will continue to write a monthly email that, of course, contains gallery links - but it is mostly geared now towards being helpful and entertaining since people are stuck at home. I curate videos from YouTube and such on Tour de France highlights, at-home workouts, bicycle repair, etc. My last one appeared to be well-received.

My Instagram, another post-event source of sales, is suffering because I don’t have fresh content. I am looking through my files for favorite photos that were never posted, but there are about 30K pictures.

I am working on ideas on what to market to my existing following and beyond but, in the meantime, I still have their attention. For now.

I have not explored ShootProof’s email to its fullest extent, as I already had Constant Contact in place before I signed up here a couple of years ago. My fiancee runs her own digital marketing agency, and I am her business partner as well. I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff, including clients’ email marketing. We have used all the big name platforms out there, and nothing beats Constant Contact for simplicity, versatility, and value. I can check with her if she has any current promo codes for them right now if you want to sign up. She gets the codes because she is an Authorized Local Expert for them.
