We know 2020 was a year like no other, and it’s easy to get caught up in the struggles and challenges we faced. However, 2021 is quickly approaching and now is the time to pause and reflect on the year we are leaving behind. Gratitude is a powerful mindset tool, easy to access, and FREE to use!

Take a moment, reflect, and share in the comments: what is the best thing that you did for your business in 2020?

For me, it’s deciding to enroll in Booked Solid, a new course to continue my education.

I know a lot of people are going say things because of how much of a dumpster fire 2020 has been, but this year has been pretty good for my business.

It started in February when I was able to meet and talk with Lindsay Adler and James Musslewhite at the WPPI expo. Lindsay had several significant things to share with me, and I was able to take her feedback and it transformed my business. James did a portfolio review of my work and we are still friends and he still helps with feedback.

I also invested in Chris Knight’s - Finding Rembrandt course, which I am currently going through (so far so good!). It really helped me focus the direction of my business and it’s working so far.

Started using shootproof contracts, really helped me out a lot. Haven’t found any useful online courses though.

The best thing I did for my business this year is virtual conferencing. Not only did I learn to do virtual consultations and sales sessions, I was able to attend Texas School, LaterCon, and QuaranCon virtual conferences, ShootProof happy hour, local and national networking events, join a small business mastermind, interview past clients, and be interviewed for a fellow photographer’s Facebook community. I was able to attend so many events and connect with so many more people than would have been possible in a normal year.

@DamonBowe  I love that you’re using contracts! Did you bring your own in and create a template or grab one through the Marketplace?

And what kind of online courses would be useful for you?

@Jill Nissen  You are a social QUEEN! You truly embraced virtual communication and ran with it!
