For me, I was a Canon 5DIII girl till I die… yes I liked the look of the Mark IV, but I was happy with my trusty steed and had no intentions of upgrading anytime soon.
Then the mirrorless bug hit me.
I switched to Canon R6 last year. Oh my freaking G.
The tack sharpness. The auto eye tracking. The facial tracking. The tilt screen. The dual slots. The touch and drag focus!! (Seriously… that last one?!!)
I actually took the time to configure this baby how I wanted it for me. Camera configuration settings are almost like fingerprints to photographers… I can’t pick up another photographer’s R6 and have the exact same results.
I use the mid range focus ring adapter with my old lenses, and set the focus ring to change white balance. I have it set to eye track, BUT by holding down the old back button focus button (AE-ON), it toggles between touch and drag focus and eye focus so that I can still get those shots of inanimate objects even with people in the scene. (As an FYI, I don’t even USE back button focus anymore… the camera is already tack sharp so it seemed a pointless extra step!):

So I’m now a very proud Canon mirrorless mama.
What’s your camera? And what’s your tips for setup?
