Is there a way to remove that intro page on galleries? It’s a senseless step, imo.

Hi @lisarigdon! The intro page cannot be removed, because it is the page where email addresses are collected and passwords are entered. If your gallery is fully public & you don’t collect visitor email addresses, I can see where it wouldn’t be entirely necessary, alas, it’s still going to be there. Is there a reason you don’t collect the email addresses of your gallery visitors?

@Megan We do a lot of action photography, and it’s just not important to me. Honestly, I hate when I have to input my email address to gain access to something, so I don’t ask others to do it. We’re in the process of trying out other providers due to Zenfolio’s recent downtime issues. Zenfolio and Pixieset both allow me to not have an intro page. However, your layout more closely resembles our current Zen layout, so it’s more preferable. The intro page is not a deal breaker for me, I just thought it would be nice if there was an option to disable it.

That makes sense, and we’re glad you’re checking out ShootProof! One of the thing I appreciate about entering the email into the gallery is the Gallery Visitors report- ShootProof gathers information for you when a client views your gallery so that you can see if they added items to their cart, selected favorites, or placed an order.  If you want to see it for yourself, go to Reports> Gallery Visitors.

You can also target gallery visitors with a follow up email campaign. Check out this video to see more about that.

I’m evaluating ShootProof and this is the first blocker into me buying it. I’ve worked as a software engineer, and I know there is absolutely no technical reason ShootProof cannot support an option to disable the intro page.

Many of my casual shoots are simply shared through private link, with no need for password or email tracking.

Megan: I appreciate your excitement for email marketing reports but it’s a disservice to deflect your customer’s request and try to convince them of modifying their business processes to fit your tool’s limitations.

Hi @Z.Light,

It is possible to remove the email/password requirement for the galleries. I use this type of gallery to showcase my work. Here is an example of using the gallery without the email/pass and only the into page.

When you setup your gallery this way, you can also link straight to the album and bypass the intro page as well. This may not be ideal, but it is functional. Here is an example.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions!
Thanks,

I also wish there was the ability to remove the intro page. Is there anywhere feature requests or blockers could be submitted and the community could share ideas and interest?

Thank you for sharing! Can you explain the steps of how you set the gallery up that way?
