Can I offer Packages with more than 50 items?

Hey guys,

I am having a hard time configuring my items and packages according to my own price list.

  • How can I set up packages for 51, 100 or more selffulfilled prints or shootproof downloads? Apparently, I am limited to 50? Everytime I want to save more than 50 the package does not appear in the end or cannot be saved…
  • My clients should be able to choose a 100 prints package but add there chosen images to cart even if they only took 74 for instance… (they will pay one price for 51 to 100 prints in this case). How to set up?
  • How can I set an overall discount (like 20% for everyone) WITHOUT the need of changing different price lists one after another?
  • How can I make the store automatically set the price for a full album / gallery digital download in relation to the containing images like 1-50 = €€€, 51-100 = €€€, 101-… and so on. Currently I have to set up several pricing lists with an individual complete album / gallery price (because a wedding album containing 800 images is something different than a gallery containing 5 application portraits).

Have a nice day. Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

Hi @MarcoRank!

Right now, packages are limited to 50 items. That’s by design, as it would be a tedious client experience to have to select so many images one-by-one!  But if that’s something that would be helpful for you, I’ll be happy to pass along the feedback :)

Regardless of the quantity of images in the package, it can’t be added to a cart until all items have been selected, so your second option can’t be achieved using Packages.  Have you thought of using Labels? Check out this feature to see if you might be able to use Labels for your clients to make their selections.

You can add credit or cart discounts to each of your price sheets so you can give your clients discounts without having to switch out their price sheets! And coming very soon, you’ll be able to add a banner message at the top of the gallery to alert your clients to the special offer :)

I believe you may be able to achieve your 4th bullet point with a Cart discount. Using a Cart discount, you can set up tiers of discounts based on the quantity added to the cart. I hope I understood what you’re trying to accomplish there :)

Let me know if I can help in any other way!

I’d also like to be able to offer packages of items more than 50. For example I want to sell print bundles in bundles of 50, 100, 150, 200 and so on.

Hi @Scott! I’m assuming you mean the client would order 50,100 or 200 of the same photo - is that correct? If that’s the case, I would create a self-fulfilled item on the price sheet for “Bundle of 100 4x6 prints”. That way, when they build the package, that bundle only counts as one item (and they’d only need to select one image). Then you could add others items to the package as well.

If you’re allowing them to select multiple photos for the bundle, a Group Discount may work better for you.

Let me know if that’s helpful at all!

Hi Karen,

I was thinking that the customer would pick 50, 100, 150 etc of different photos. (Why would they want 100 of the same photo? :) )

Don’t think Group Discounts would work for me without a lot of re-work; I’ve got a Group called Prints, which contains around a dozen print sizes, but my packages are only for 6x4’s. Would I, therefore, need to create a new group for the 6x4s? Or would another discount approach work?

I can think of certain genres who would sell packs of the same image, but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re looking for! :)

No need to create a whole new group - If you want the discount to work only for a specific size of prints, an Item Discount would work. You can choose to only have the discount apply to 6x4’s.

You would need to make them promo code discounts - ie., 50PRINTS, 100PRINTS, 150PRINTS. Your client would add their photos to the cart, then enter the promo code for the bundle that best fits the quantity on their cart and the discount would be taken.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’d still like more flexibility in the number of items allowed in a package. However I’ll give your idea thought in the meantime. Thanks again.

@Scott Definitely upvote that request over at ideas.shootproof.com! And if you need help setting up the other type of discount in the meantime, give the Support team a ring (866-516-5130) - They’re always happy to jump into your account and make recommendations :)

Take care!

We do need to have digital package prices.  If you have to ask clients to look for banners with pricing details on or have to give them codes, this is never going to work.  Clients need so much hand holding through a buying process.

Zenfoilo offer a price for 1, 3, 5, 10 digitials or whatever I set it at.  I have waited for this service to be offered for so long so I can move over to Shootproof 100%.

Hi @CarolineRushton! You can create digital packages using the Package Builder :) Have you created packages before? If not, click here and watch the 3rd video on the page, “Sell Packages”.

Let me know if this helps!

Thank you Karen

Thank for this.  Could I ask is there any way of editing the names of the titles.  I would like to rename Items to Products.

@CarolineRushton I’ve honestly never even noticed that “Items” before! Right now, that isn’t editable, but if you’d like to see that feature addressed, vote for it here.

I like the idea of having it called Products instead :)
