Adding and keeping watermark for download

Badge +1

I have an extra gallery that I want to make available for the client in exchange for Marketing me on her Instagram. So I decided to add watermarks to her pictures. So instead of Having to go into lightroom and exporting them with watermark, Abd uploading again, I wanted to add the watermark in Shootproof if possible. But it looks like the watermark is automatically removed when the clients download them. Is there a way to keep them? And have I understood corrrctly that I don’t need to remove watermark in Shootproof, as client Will not have them on downloaded images Anyway.

Hi @Naseem Larsson,

You can read about the feature of watermarks on ShootProof in this article. The watermarks ShootProof adds are “soft watermarks” as they are not embedded in the photo; therefore, they will be removed when sent to the lab or digital downloads.

The only way to keep your watermarks on digital downloads is to add them to the photos before uploading them to ShootProof.

I think your best bet would be to export a social media version from LR with a watermark and then add them to a Social Media album in your Gallery so you can offer the digital downloads like your wanting.

Hope that helps!

@Naseem Larsson,

I was wrong on my previous comment, it IS possible to apply your watermark to downloaded digital files.

If you go into the Gallery settings and click Free Digitals, you can create a Social rule which makes the longest size 900 pixels and has some other options about who can download. There is a toggle there to “Apple watermark to the downloaded files”.

I’ve verified it work, so that should save you some time for sure.
