My Mobile Office at Panera

One of my favorite things about being a small business owner is my ability to work anywhere!  I love being able to pack up my computer and go to our local coffee shop, Panera or even the mechanic while I’m waiting for my oil to be changed.

Where do you like to work?  Is your home office your favorite place?  Your kitchen table?  The local coffee shop?!  Bonus points if you add a photo below.  I love seeing where you find focus and inspiration!

My day job is as an IT guy.  I recently got an Alienware Gaming laptop that outperforms my Desktop and have been using that as my Mobile editing workstation.  I edit at my IT job when I have downtime\lunch, and literally everywhere else.  I mainly shoot sports events, so it has come in handy to have it with me to start editing photos during tournaments when I don’t have a team to cover during a match.  About 75% of the time, it gets used on a lap desk when I am sitting in my recliner in my living room.

Hey John!

I love this - I actually have a similar setup. I moved to a gaming laptop after my previous one had a run-in with a cup of coffee and an excited two year old :face_palm_tone1:  And I love it - the specs of a gaming computer are PERFECT for editing! And also, it’s lovely to have the option to not HAVE to sit at the desk (though I sometimes hook it up to a larger external monitor). Do you edit in Lightroom? One of the best things about editing in Lightroom is creating smartpreviews so you don’t have to lug an external hard drive everywhere with you - and just connect back up before exporting!
