new integrated store request

Pixieset just announced a new integrated storefront.  Looks amazing!  It is something that I as a portrait photographer have been waiting and asking for Shootproof to offer.  Is this something that Shootproof plans to roll out and if so what would be a realistic and honest timeline?

I appreciate Matt’s answer and tie-back to a new feature we released! We hear your requests, and please continue to ask for exactly what you’d like to see on the ShootProof platform using the new Share Your Ideas section- we implemented it earlier this year to help us understand what ShootProof photographers as a whole are looking for, to amplify your voices by combining them with each other! Keep sharing and voting!

As a photographer would you not want to be selling your own photos not that of the client?

There are many different ways that clients can upload their own photographs and have them printed you would be competing against a huge market and not be able to offer the discounts that they do.

For example you can order 7”x5” prints from Photobox for as little as 25p (plus they have an offer of 40% Off at the moment). At those cost you would not make anything or end up with it costing you.

If however you want to provide a storefront to sell your own prints simply set up a gallery and share it on your website.

I would be selling my own photos. This storefront would be tied to my client’s gallery so clients could see product options from labs that I work with. For example, they could see frame or card options that I offer through WHCC.  Just a feature I thought I had heard ShootProof would be offering and I would like to know if and when it is on the horizon.

It’s already there….

Have a look at this to see how you can add your own products to the list.

Thanks again Chris.  Yes, I agree, I do this.  The integrated store feature that I have seen on other services like Pixieset is more advanced.  Clients can put the photo of the their choice in the frame etc.   Senior portrait clients can use easily purchase grad cards etc.  It is a step up from what we can do in self fulfillment carts now.

Hi @MaryellenJones,

There are some new ShootProof features available and let’s keep our fingers crossed that it will be expanding too. Check out this article on how to view canvases in a room. This feature will automatically be available to you and your clients if you have “Allow Cropping” turned on in all of your galleries. If you don’t have it turned on, you will need to go into your client galleries and enable it before the feature will work.

Is this the feature you were hoping for?

Thanks,

That’s isn’t quite what I am looking for but it is close!  I missed this update. Thank you so much for the info.  Integrating cards and framing options I hope are next!

@MaryellenJones, glad I could share the update info with you. I am going to move this thread into the How Do I, How Do You? section. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I saw the Pixieset update in my email as well. The current canvas option is great, but I’d love to see HH Color Lab frame options integrated into Shootproof.

@Crystelle and @MaryellenJones if there are specific features you’re looking for, I’d encourage you to search in the new Share Your Ideas section and see if someone else has requested it as well. If they have, you can add your vote to the idea! If it hasn’t been requested, then create an idea for others to vote on! Start with this article to get some tips for how to present the idea :)

I’d like to also add my support to the real time framing display (similar to Pixieset) - We sell a framed print with every wall portrait order and this is a HUGE game changer for secondary selling. We frame in-house so what we are looking for is the ability for the client to just have a simple virtual rendering to see size and crop changes for basic frames (black, brown, white, gold, silver)

I agree with your request and just put something similar in a feature request. I think the stores for Pixiset and Pic-Time are just blowing Shootproof out of the water. The Canvas thing is a nice start but it’s pretty far behind what the other gallery systems are providing. Shootproof has a way better backend for photographers and their digital delivery system is easy to work with especially when it comes to vendors. But I tripled my sales with Pic-Time’s storefront. We need something better to help showcase products.

Yes TomFuller!  I just got the announcements with Pixieset storefront and I am blown away.  I have been analyzing all afternoon if I should just switch now.  I sell a lot of WHCC grad cards, holiday cards and have been asking SHootproof for a while now for this feature.  I keep hearing just wait but still not sign of this coming in the near future.  The framing and canvas feature in Pixieset is just amazing.  Would greatly appreciate an honest timeline if a comparable storefront is coming and if so the realistic timeline.

I’m with you. I have the trial account for Pixiset and it definitely looks amazing. Their digital download feature and giving clients the ability to hide photos was a little strange to me as you have to give couples a couple different passcodes. I’d like to keep as least confusing as possible! I’ve been using Pic-Time over the last year and their storefront is just like Pixiset and it’s crazy how much my print sales went up. I love Shootproofs backend and their integration with Tave but it’s just hard to ignore the money trail.

Also considering this as solved because of that Canvas feature doesn’t seem right at all.

Hey @TomFuller, I just saw your last remark and wanted to add some clarity- marking an answer as the “best answer” simply changes this thread from a question-based thread to a discussion here in the forum; it does not indicate that the concern is solved on a platform level.

The discussion here is fantastic and has been seen! We appreciate this type of honest, candid feedback shared with the business implications and use-case. Keep sharing and voting in Share Your Ideas as well.

Thanks Megan for reaching out.  Would really appreciate an honest timeline of when this will happen or if it will at all.
