Can customers change orders?

My client tried to order an 8x10 crop of a team banner, which is set up with a 1:2 aspect ratio. I have 8x16 and 10x20 prints in my price sheet specifically for this banner item, but I guess it wasn’t obvious enough that that’s what she needed to pick. She ordered the 8x10 and left a note in the order saying she wants the full image.

I know how to edit the order on my end, but that’s not going to change the cost for her. The 8x16 and 10x20 both cost more (on my price sheet) than the 8x10. Is there any way for my client to change her order once it’s been placed, so she can get the more expensive item and actually pay the right price for it, or do we just have to cancel the whole thing and start over?

@SGJohnson If you don’t want to worry with cancelling, refunding, and re-placing the order, you could send over an invoice for the difference in amount. 

Other than that, there’s really not an easy way (that I can think of off the top of my head) to fix this.  I saw that you commented on the idea for restricting certain sizes and prints, and adding your vote there is helpful. 

To help prevent this in the future, for now, it might be worth adding it to your gallery intro message, either as a video where you demonstrate how to order them properly, or by typing out the instructions.

Thanks. Yes, I did go ahead and add some text to the product description, saying that an 8x10 is only for individual portraits and they will need to order the banner in one of the two other sizes available, so hopefully that will help. I can try adding it to the gallery info message as well.

@SGJohnson I had another idea - add a vote to this idea. That’s something that could help this situation too - having a description on product groups with directions.
