‘Tis the Season of Giving… so why not make the most of it and offer your clients some great gift ideas?

Over the course of a year, we hear photographers ask the same question over and over again: “How can I boost my income?” Well, one important factor to consider is timing. And there’s no better time than over the glorious holiday season! 

One of the easiest ways for a photographer to boost their income requires almost no effort at all! By connecting the Print Store to your galleries, clients have the option to go in and purchase products directly, using the images from the gallery. This is ideal if you are typically a digitals only type of photographer, or if you’ve already sold the client on prints. for example (once their purchase of prints has been made, you have the option of switching from the traditional store to the print store where they can purchase things like photo mugs, blankets and pillowcases for example!) You get 20% of the sales made from the print store… and considering this requires ZERO work on your part, is easy bonus cash! 

Another great idea for boosting income is to jump on the Christmas Composite bandwagon. Even if you are super limited in photoshop skills, there are lots of simple drag & drop templates for photos with Santa, inside a snow globe or hanging out in a gingerbread house for example! These can be showcased to purchase either through a dedicated shoot proof gallery link, or on a page on your website. Then just market them to families with children - what a magical gift for any child to receive… without having to sit on Santa’s lap! 

My last tip to earn income this season is to be organised and think about what clients want most this time of year. Stand out in the market by offering unique to you Christmas mini sessions, add a twist by offering a bonus hot chocolate gift for each booking, or a wrapped toy delivered from the man in red himself! Add products directly into your print packages that are exclusive for this season - photo baubles have been popular in the past, or photo calendars, or packs of holiday cards of course! 

By letting your clients see that you are a go to source for great, unique, personalised and hassle free gifts, they will openly and willingly spend without you having to get ‘salesy” with them once! Perfect for those who want the sales without the stress!

I really enjoyed offering Santa Composites last year.  I’m not a PS pro, but the drag and drop templates were easy to use.  I also added a personalized letter from the big man himself.  They were a hit!

In order for ShootProof clients to be able to maximise on the holidays and associated sales, we need to make sure that our service provider and payment processor are working correctly. A lot off my clients… and me included are not able to place orders.

Currently, this does not seem to be the case. Has the launch of this new print store changed or broken the existing ShootProof system?
