Sample Packages Offered in My Print StoreAs a consumer, I LOVE getting a great deal. Especially when I know it’s on a premium product. Knowing that, I have created print packages for my clients to enjoy a small savings and incentivize additional product orders.Setting up packages through my preferred lab is easy. I open my price sheet, put together the products I want to group, and set the price! I can even add a description to tell clients about specific products or what the price would have been if purchased a la carte. This puts more $$ in my account and more products in the hands of my clients (which I always love!).If you are interested in learning more about offering products to your clients, sign up for this week’s webinar: Increase Sales by Selling Packages with ShootProof. Take Control of Your Digital Images by Using Digital Download Rules in Your GalleryHave you ever had a client download more images than were included in their package? Or maybe you used to provide all the digitals, but now you’ve got a plan to include a specific number and upsell the rest? Either way, the key here is allowing a specific number of digital downloads for each client gallery. With Shootproof, this is easily achieved and can be done by setting the correct digital download rules in your gallery settings. You can also use digital download rules to provide social media sized images if that is part of your business model, or if you have a branding client who needs web-sized images for use on their website and social media. If you’re curious about how to set those up and help put you in a position to bring in additional income with your digital sales, check out this week’s webinar: Take Control of Downloads with Digital Rules. Knowing What to Charge Involves Evaluating Your Quality of Work and Knowing Your CODB How much should I charge for this session? Is it okay to raise my prices? What would you pay for this work? These questions plague most of us in the beginning. The only answer here is another question, and it’s actually the same for all 3 questions: What is your Cost of Doing Business? Your Cost of Doing Business (CODB) is what you must charge in order to pay yourself and cover all expenses. This is going to vary greatly based on your overhead costs, the cost of living in your area, the salary you require, the number of sessions you shoot per month etc. Figuring out your CODB is vital to running a healthy business and doesn’t have to be scary. In fact, Shootproof’s webinar this week is all about figuring out your CODB. It covers: Identifying how much money you're spending and where Determining what you need to charge per session to be profitable Figuring out your personal pricing strategy On
Consistency is key when it comes to establishing your business as a memorable brandWhat do the following brands have in common? Target McDonalds Canon Amazon FedExWell… apart from being globally known, these five brands are just some examples of excellent branding at work! A great brand is one that evokes an intended message on sight, with a recognisable logo and selection of colors to represent a business. It is built over time, with clear messaging and intentional marketing consistently interwoven across all public facing elements of the business: social media, email messaging and communication, signage, stationery, etc. Your brand is an extension of you - your voice, your values, your business. And in order to build brand confidence, it’s important that consistency is built within your brand so that your client feels it’s a brand they can relate to, trust and rely on. And OK… that’s like the SUPER short summary of what a brand is… but hopefully you’ve gathered why it’s important to

High Quality Prints are Especially Important When You are Capturing MilestonesAre you using one of Shootproof’s partner labs to fulfill your print orders? If not, I highly suggest you check them out! My business model involves delivering digital images, however, because these moments I am capturing are so important for my clients, they often ask me to recommend a place to print their images that will provide the best quality! This allows me to direct them to my ordering options right within their gallery. I explain that the prints are more expensive than a grocery store print lab, but the quality will reflect that as well. I offer bundle packages to make the products more affordable and encourage additional sales. My favorite part about clients printing through my gallery and connected lab, is that I get to double check the crop prior to the order going through. My personal style tends to be close-up and cropped tight as I love the emotion is displays. However, this can present a pro
Gallery Intro VideoShootproof offers several ways to customize the galleries you deliver to your clients. This provides a better, more personalized client experience, which can result in more sales for you! Customizing your gallery can help your clients fall in love with their images, and can also provide a way to show them how to purchase extras quickly and easily from their gallery! One of my favorites customization features is the option to add a gallery intro message. I have found that clients LOVE seeing their images in slideshow form, set to music. Something about it really tugs on the heartstrings and makes people more likely to absolutely adore every photo delivered. Once they have seen the slideshow, they also get a quick gallery walkthrough so they knew exactly how to download their included images and how to purchase more. Showing them how easy it is to purchase all of the images they have just decided they cannot live without, helps them to make the purchase quickly, w
‘Tis the Season of Giving… so why not make the most of it and offer your clients some great gift ideas?Over the course of a year, we hear photographers ask the same question over and over again: “How can I boost my income?” Well, one important factor to consider is timing. And there’s no better time than over the glorious holiday season! One of the easiest ways for a photographer to boost their income requires almost no effort at all! By connecting the Print Store to your galleries, clients have the option to go in and purchase products directly, using the images from the gallery. This is ideal if you are typically a digitals only type of photographer, or if you’ve already sold the client on prints. for example (once their purchase of prints has been made, you have the option of switching from the traditional store to the print store where they can purchase things like photo mugs, blankets and pillowcases for example!) You get 20% of the sales made from the print store… and considerin
Hi! I was a client of ShootProof for a few years but left last year to move on to Sprout Studio CRM. I signed up at the top level which includes galleries, I loved the convenience of having everything done under one roof so to speak. 10 months later and I feel like I did when I went back to T-Mobile a while back ago, begging them to take me back lol, I was a longtime client of nearly 20 years and made the mistake of switching over to Sprint, it was so so so bad I quite literally walked into T-Mobile, not knowing a soul in there, but felt like I was home again lol, I confessed and apologized for turning my back on them and promised to never do it again, five years later and I kept that promise! (Kinda ironic that now Sprint merged with T-Mobile!) Anyway, I realize I made a mistake, it’s been awful, I’ve been paying for it (literally and non literally speaking) for the last 10 months, and even though I’m paid up through the end of the year, I can’t do it anymore!!!! Have I got your atten
Fall Family Mini Upgraded GalleryThe more I learn about the features in my Shootproof gallery, the more I love it! My most recent use of a new feature for me was adding a gallery intro message. I used the intro message to deliver a slideshow video that I created for my clients, as well as a quick gallery walkthrough so they knew exactly how to download their included images and how to purchase more. And guess what?! BOTH galleries delivered this way upgraded to their full gallery of images. This is just one example of how Shootproof gallery features helped provide a better client experience and helped me to bring in some extra $$. I’m always on the lookout for new ways to up my gallery games so I will definitely be catching the webinar this week as they explain all of these great features:How to give a single client special gallery permissions, such as labeling and hiding images. How to personalize your client experience through gallery intro messages. How to set privacy and accessib
Each year for Christmas, I make my grandmother a calendar with photos of my children (her great grandchildren). She LOVES it, and I love making it for her because I get to go through our photos from the year and pick out my favorites. I also don't have to wander aimlessly through the store trying to figure out what on earth she needs that she doesn't already have. It's a win-win! I personally think photos for Christmas are a great idea, and a lot of my clients do too. So, this is the perfect time of year to encourage print and photo gift sales! I know some people even open all of the galleries back up from the entire year to allow people to purchase additional prints and gifts. As I'm getting ready to reopen galleries and trying to decide how I will encourage print sales this season, I would love to know what works for you! Please share your ideas below. Also, if you're interested in learning more about selling prints through your gallery, tune in for the webinar this week and learn ho
I have recently moved my business about 450 miles across the United States. In doing so, I obviously left my entire client base behind (yikes!). In order to find new clientele, I was encouraged to offer free sessions… while that’s not a bad idea, free sessions don’t pay the bills.I knew there had to be some middle ground: a way to reduce the barrier to entry for my clients AND put some $$ in the bank. I decided to offer free sessions at a local family festival. I called them “Micro-Mini Sessions.” and charged $0. That’s right, zip, zilch, nada. Then, how on earth did I end up making hundreds for just a few hours of my time? Two words: Shootproof Packages. Here’s the deal:Step 1: On the day of the festival, I had a table, promotional materials and signage thatadvertised "FREE 5 Minute Micro-Mini Sessions." Participants signed a model release and provided their email. For their time, they would receive one low-resolution, watermarked image. Any other images they wanted, could be
"But, I live in a saturated market." We have all heard that before. Heck! - I have SAID that before... and honestly, it's often true. Many of us do live in places where it seems like there is a different photographer on every street. It can feel like we're competing with 100 other photographers for every job, making it easy to shrug off the lost leads and attribute them to the saturated market, but you know what?! SOMEONE in your saturated market is crushing it. Someone is scooping up those leads and converting them into paying clients. BUT HOW?! Simple. They. Stand. Out. There must be something they do that sets them apart from the pack. So, why shouldn't that be us? It takes a little creativity and sometimes a bit of extra work, but we can do things that make us stand out in a sea of other photographers. We can be the one they remember, the website they visit, the photographer they book. For me, facebook is one spot where this is really noticeable. Someone asks for a ph
I love this feature! I use discount codes in EVERY single gallery I deliver. It makes it so easy to provide clients with exactly what their package included AND to upsell their gallery even further. My clients enjoy being able to access their gallery at their convenience, select the images they have chosen and pre-paid for AND purchase additional items all on their own. I LOVE being hands-off in the image and product purchase time as I am a busy mom of three and not an IPS photographer. When I sell sessions, they come with a specific # of digital images. When that session is delivered, I send my clients a personalized discount code for that number of digitals. They can then go in and add those images to their cart. The beauty of the discount code, is that it allows your client to see the amazing deal they get when they bulk purchase images. My a la carte image price is $25, so if they have 15 images included in their gallery, they can see that purchasing them individually later
